Wavegrain for Cursor

Connect Wavegrain to Cursor, and the Cursor agent can work in your Wavegrain account: plan posts, make slideshows from a release note or a changelog, change slide text and export them.

You need a Wavegrain account. Create an account, then follow the steps below.

Connect Cursor

Add this to ~/.cursor/mcp.json and keep any servers already in it. Cursor reads the key from the WAVEGRAIN_MCP_TOKEN environment variable.

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "wavegrain": {
      "url": "https://wavegrain.com/api/mcp",
      "headers": {
        "Authorization": "Bearer ${env:WAVEGRAIN_MCP_TOKEN}"
      }
    }
  }
}

Good to know

  • Cursor sends an access key. Make one in Wavegrain under Settings, Connect an AI agent, and give it only the permissions it needs.
  • The key stays in an environment variable, so it is not written into a project file you might commit.
  • Cursor spends the same credits you spend in the app. Every paid call names the most it may spend, and the daily limit caps the rest.
  • Cursor posts to a social account only with the posting permission, and only after you confirm a summary of what goes where in the chat.
  • Plans and credit packs are bought on the Wavegrain website, never in the chat.

Try these prompts

  • Read CHANGELOG.md and make a 5-slide carousel about this release for my active brand. Spend at most 10 credits.
  • List my scheduled Wavegrain posts for next week.
  • Export my latest slideshow and give me the download link.
